About The Veterinarian

Dr. Robert F. Barkley is a 1974 gradute of Texas A&M Univeristy College of Veterinary Medicine, located in College Station, Texas. Upon graduation he began practicing veterinary medicine in Odessa, Texas, where he treated small animals for 7 years before building a clinic in Waco, Texas, where he has enjoyed practicing in the same location for over 25 years.

Dr. Barkley is skilled in many areas of surgical procedures, including Orthopedics, and Trauma/Emergency Care. He has been trained in several specialized surgical techniques, including those of veterinary surgeons like Dr. Herron, and Dr. Hobson from Texas A&M University.

Since graduation Dr. Barkley has maintained working relationships with many of the veterinarians and specialists at the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine, which allows access to some of the foremost authority in modern veterinary medicine, and enabling his practice to continue to provide the most up-to-date, comprehensive medical care available.
